This 1914 home was fully remodeled and repurposed to meet the family’s modern-day needs, while maintaining the architectural character. The first floor was reframed, seismically and structurally retrofitted. A new kitchen remodel with a walk-in pantry that opens to the dining and living areas. The front porch doors now open onto the newly rebuilt front porch, expanding entertaining space and enhancing biophilic design. The primary suite was enlarged, enclosing the porch dormer. New stairs lead up to 3 bedrooms that were reframed to add flex spaces, and a new laundry room. Balancing needs and wants within the planned budget was challenging, especially as the Pandemic hit amidst construction. We persevered, but schedule was definitely impacted. The exterior features a new rear deck, siding, windows, doors, and trim. Styling was selected to replicate the home’s historic charm.
